Role Purpose

The QA/QC Engineer or Inspector will oversee the inspection and assessment of all repair and refurbishment activities to ensure adherence to SUEZ-approved method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), material specifications, and contractual obligations. This role serves as the primary quality assurance liaison between SUEZ and repair contractors, ensuring all completed works meet the established quality standards prior to acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide feedback on Inspection and Test Plans presented by repair contractors for various repair techniques such as CIPP relining, joint sealing, patch repairs, manhole rehabilitation, and grouting.
• Perform pre-repair inspections to verify correct identification, isolation, and preparation of repair zones according to authorized method statements.
• Witness and record critical ITP hold points including pre-repair surveys, material deliveries, quality checks, and post-repair CCTV inspections.
• Inspect final repaired works to confirm compliance with approved method statements, material specifications, and engineering drawings issued by SUEZ.
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports for any deviations from approved methods, quality standards, or specifications and monitor corrective actions until closure.
• Review contractor material submittals and method statements to ensure materials have valid certification and are appropriate for intended use.
• Analyze post-repair CCTV footage and reports to verify that repair standards are met.
• Maintain a comprehensive quality assurance and control record system including ITP sign-offs, material receipt documentation, inspection reports, NCRs, and CCTV verification records.
• Contribute to monthly progress reports by summarizing inspection activities, quality performance metrics, NCR status, and recurring issues.
• Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors to prevent approval and payment for works lacking adequate inspection.
• Assist technical teams by identifying patterns of repair failures or quality issues that may necessitate changes in repair methods.
• Ensure all quality documentation is properly archived within the project’s document management system.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized university.
• At least 6 years of professional experience after graduation, including a minimum of 3 years focused on QA/QC inspection or supervision in infrastructure or utility network projects.
• Proven expertise in developing, reviewing, and implementing Inspection and Test Plans and Method Statements.
• Preferred experience with CIPP relining, pipe rehabilitation, or underground utility repair techniques.
• Working knowledge of CCTV sewer inspection interpretation and post-repair verification processes.
• Familiarity with relevant quality standards such as ISO 9001 and EN 13508 or equivalent sewer condition assessment standards.
• Possession of a recognized QA/QC certification is advantageous, such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or IRCA Lead Auditor.
• A valid UAE driving license is required due to field travel responsibilities within Abu Dhabi.
