Role Overview

We seek a Dallas-based Game QA Analyst committed to engaging deeply in the game development process. This role requires regular office attendance due to the necessity for close daily interaction with developers and producers. Unlike typical QA roles focused solely on identifying bugs, this position demands active investigation, communication, and involvement until all issues are thoroughly addressed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct testing throughout game development to detect functional, technical, usability, balance, and design defects.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of each project’s systems, tools, and technical frameworks.
• Analyze bugs beyond surface symptoms to provide detailed context, reproduction steps, and likely causes.
• Direct issues to the correct team members and maintain clear communication when further information is necessary.
• Collaborate with producers to assess issue severity, urgency, player impact, and development risk.
• Monitor reported problems through to resolution, retesting fixes, and identifying any regressions or related issues.
• Create and update effective test plans, cases, and regression coverage documentation.
• Proactively identify potential risk areas before they escalate to larger problems.
• Participate actively in daily team discussions, providing an accurate status of product quality.
• Seek opportunities to enhance testing procedures, tools, and overall development workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong comprehension of game design and development processes across multiple disciplines.
• Experience in crafting and executing test plans, cases, and regression testing.
• Ability to reproduce and articulate complex issues clearly and effectively.
• Curiosity and investigative mindset towards root cause analysis of problems.
• Sound judgment when evaluating the criticality and urgency of issues and their impact on players.
• Confidence in direct communication with colleagues, coupled with respectful persistence to clarify and ensure follow-through.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail managing multiple features and priorities.
• Proactive and solution-driven approach to challenges.

Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, UEFN, development tools, debugging workflows, or scripting is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Work location: Dallas, Texas with in-office collaboration Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; remote work allowed on Wednesday.
