Role Overview
The Project Manager position, reporting to the Manager of Project Delivery Office within the Systems Department, entails leading projects to fulfillment while collaborating closely with business stakeholders. The role follows a hybrid working model combining remote and office work at the Markham headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full project lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure alignment with business objectives, timely delivery, and budget adherence.
- Maintain clear and transparent communication on project status, risks, financials, and progress with all stakeholders, including executive sponsors and steering committees.
- Coordinate effectively with internal and external delivery partners, identifying and managing dependencies and mitigating risks throughout project execution.
- Handle budgeting by preparing, maintaining, and reporting project financial plans; seek approvals for budget proposals to sustain project continuity.
- Manage project changes and interventions to achieve established goals.
- Ensure a smooth transition from project completion to operational support.
Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI certification is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience managing projects through entire life cycles.
- Proven ability to deliver digital, compliance, and process improvement projects across cross-functional teams including vendor oversight.
- Expertise with Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Project.
- Experience in establishing and sustaining project governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile methodologies for project delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for swift resolution and alignment among multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated vendor, project, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience managing remote teams and projects including technical infrastructure and information security personnel.
- Result-focused with the capacity to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and industry best practices in decision-making.
- Effective communication skills tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compensation and Additional Information
The projected annual salary for this opportunity ranges from 98500 to 125000 CAD, based on the candidate's expertise, knowledge, and qualifications.
