Job description
Overview
This role involves handling a variety of complex tasks including calculations, written and verbal communication, managing external inquiries, and following up on issues related to production stock control. Though guidance from a section leader is available, the role requires discretion and independent decision-making in managing critical production stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing stock control for production ingredients and materials.
- Performing daily mass balance for production raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Determining and regulating minimum order quantities (MOQ) for each ingredient.
- Maintaining accurate daily stock back flushing and consumption records aligned with production usage.
- Precise recording and verification of product waste and damages.
- Correct posting of fuel and diesel usage.
- Placing orders for raw and packaging materials as needed.
- Generating reports for top management regarding production performance metrics.
- Understanding and executing daily, weekly, and monthly stock takes along with cycle counts.
- Utilizing SAP and other data management systems efficiently.
- Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education level: Matric certificate.
- Certificate or diploma in Operations Management or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a production environment preferred.
- 2 to 3 years’ relevant clerical experience.
- Proficient computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and other related systems.
