Production Engineer (Bus Body Manufacturing)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Production Engineer specialized in bus body manufacturing to oversee and execute the production activities ensuring efficient and timely delivery of high-quality bus bodies. This role demands close coordination with multiple teams and continuous process enhancements within the fabrication and assembly environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily manufacturing plans aligned with the approved production schedule.
• Supervise and monitor operations including bus body fabrication, chassis mounting, welding, paneling, flooring, and interior fitments.
• Ensure production milestones and dispatch deadlines are met consistently.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, stores, quality assurance, and project teams to maintain streamlined workflows.
• Oversee adherence to approved designs, specifications, and customer requirements throughout production stages.
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and boost operational efficiency.
• Manage manpower allocation and machine operations to optimize resource utilization and control costs.
• Coordinate with Quality Department for inspections, maintain product quality, and reduce defective outputs.
• Analyze production data to identify and resolve bottlenecks with continuous process improvements and SOP updates.
• Recommend and implement automation and process optimization initiatives.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Proficiency in coach building and commercial vehicle manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of bus body fabrication and assembly techniques.
• Experience in applying lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Competence in managing quality control and material waste reduction.
• Effective resource planning and machine utilization management.
