About the Role

Join a global leader in industrial and energy management at their Budapest Business Service Centre as a Purchasing Manager. This pivotal leadership role involves overseeing a substantial international purchasing team, spearheading operational excellence throughout the EMEA region, and fostering supply chain efficiency while cooperating with senior stakeholders in an evolving global setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a large Purchasing organization comprising about 6 to 7 Purchasing Managers and a total workforce of roughly 60 Buyers and Planners.
  • Manage comprehensive purchasing activities ensuring availability of materials, cost-effectiveness, and strong supplier performance across manufacturing locations.
  • Guide managers through organizational changes and business transformations to build a scalable and high-performing team.
  • Standardize and enhance purchasing processes by implementing industry best practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts, including digital transformation projects and process optimizations within the Supply Chain division.
  • Assist in deploying new supply chain tools and technology systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Planning, SIOP, Network Planning, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Track key performance indicators and promote enhancements in on-time delivery, inventory control, and operational effectiveness.
  • Foster leadership development through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and enhancing team capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with senior stakeholders throughout the EMEA region.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Over 15 years of experience in Purchasing, Materials Management or Supply Chain, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing expansive purchasing operations and leading managerial teams.
  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory; Master's degree considered beneficial.
  • Excellent leadership qualities, superior communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A dynamic and assertive personality coupled with change management expertise.
  • Experience in process and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SAP MM is advantageous.
  • Fluent business-level English proficiency.
  • Willingness to undertake business travel up to 20–25% across the EMEA region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kinaxis software is a plus.
