Private Equity Analyst/Senior Analyst

Overview

Ironwood Capital is searching for an Investment Analyst or Senior Analyst to strengthen its investment team located in Avon, Connecticut. This position suits candidates with background in finance analytics eager to gain practical experience in middle-market private equity, focusing on new deals and ongoing portfolio support.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze investment documents, including memoranda, business plans, and presentations by management.
• Develop and assess financial models, structure deals, and perform valuation analyses.
• Engage in investment due diligence by conducting primary research and coordinating with external parties.
• Perform comprehensive analyses of industries, markets, and competitors.
• Participate in management meetings when relevant.
• Prepare and deliver deal screening information and investment committee documents.

• Monitor portfolio companies through financial analysis and capital structure reporting.
• Research market dynamics and competitive landscapes to assist exit strategy evaluation.
• Attend and contribute to board meetings as opportunities arise.
• Support analysis and reporting at the fund level.
• Compose internal memoranda to aid ongoing investment decisions and amendments.
• Generate external documents, including regular portfolio valuation updates and communications to Limited Partners.

• Assist in the growth and maintenance of vital business partnership relationships.
• Manage and update the firm's customer relationship management (CRM) system.
• Participate in broader organizational projects such as recruiting, marketing, and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree with excellent academic results.
• Between one and three years of relevant experience in roles such as investment banking, private equity, private credit, commercial lending, transaction advisory, consulting, or corporate finance, whether full-time or internship-based.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling and analysis, especially using Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities with clarity and conciseness.
• Exceptional attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a robust work ethic.
• Capacity to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines effectively.
