This role offers the opportunity to influence the enterprise data architecture and governance, supporting innovation worldwide.
Role Summary
The Principal Solution Architect – Data will spearhead the architectural standards, principles, and governance for Gallagher’s data ecosystem. Acting as the design authority, this individual will ensure the enterprise data architecture aligns with business strategies, security demands, and regulatory compliance while guiding key transformation initiatives. Collaboration with senior leaders and multiple technical teams will be a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture and multi-year roadmap aligned with business growth and technology strategy.
- Develop and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks, architectural standards, and principles.
- Create future state data architectures to support analytics, AI, and operational needs including S/4HANA, CRM, and S&OP programs.
- Provide architectural leadership and act as a design authority in the Architecture Review Board.
- Ensure data platforms meet operational readiness for 24/7 manufacturing environments (high availability, resilience, recoverability).
- Collaborate with Data, AI & Analytics engineering, Cyber Security, ERP, CRM teams, and senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into feasible data architectures.
- Support the adoption of AI and analytics within regulatory environments, guiding teams on architectural decisions throughout implementations.
- Apply commercial judgment to prioritize initiatives and maximize return on investment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Data or Solution Architect proficient in setting architectural direction and standards in complex enterprises. They will have strong communication skills for engaging both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders. A balanced mindset towards long-term architecture vision and practical business results is essential.
Required Expertise
- Proven experience in Enterprise, Data, or Solution Architecture roles within complex organizational structures.
- Deep understanding of enterprise data platforms, governance practices, integration patterns, and data modeling.
- Experience crafting architecture standards, governance frameworks, and strategic data roadmaps.
- Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure, and dbt, along with analytics and emerging AI technologies.
- Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated influence on architectural decisions across multiple teams and business divisions.
- Collaborative leadership style focused on transparency and delivering outcomes.
