Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our engineering team at a prestigious hotel in Doha. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of plumbing systems throughout the property to uphold luxury hotel standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct both preventive and corrective maintenance on all plumbing systems within the hotel premises.
  • Manage domestic water supply, hot and cold water distribution, drainage, sewage, stormwater, irrigation, and water network systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace water supply components including lines, valves, fittings, pipes, sanitary fixtures, and associated equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wash basins, toilets, urinals, showers, mixers, faucets, flush valves, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Service water heaters, calorifiers, circulation pumps, pressure vessels, expansion tanks, booster pumps, and water treatment apparatus.
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues such as leaks, low water pressure, blockages, pipe failures, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain plumbing systems in guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house, kitchens, laundry, spa, swimming pool, and other hotel facilities.
  • Ensure grease traps, floor drains, sewage and sump pumps are functioning properly and maintained well.
  • Respond efficiently to guest plumbing requests or complaints while minimizing disturbance and maintaining hospitality standards.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other teams to restore facility operation promptly after maintenance tasks.
  • Perform daily inspections of plumbing equipment and report any irregularities or hazards to the Chief Engineer.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in the hotel's Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for major plumbing repairs, renovations, and specialized maintenance work.
  • Maintain detailed records including maintenance logs, work orders, job cards, and plumbing documentation.
  • Identify recurring plumbing problems, propose corrective measures, and suggest improvements for system reliability and efficiency.
  • Adhere strictly to hotel policies, safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), local regulations and environmental standards.
  • Promote initiatives for water conservation by detecting leaks and preventing wastage in line with sustainability goals.
  • Keep work areas tidy, safe, and organized while ensuring proper tool and equipment handling and storage.
  • Support emergency repairs and maintenance, with a willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, public holidays, and be on call as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a plumber in a luxury hotel, resort, or large commercial facility.
  • Valid trade certification where applicable.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of domestic water supply and hot/cold water distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of drainage, sewage, stormwater, irrigation, swimming pool, and spa plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with booster pump systems, water heaters, calorifiers, sanitary fittings, water treatment equipment.
  • Experience with grease traps, sewage pumps, sump pumps, and preventive maintenance protocols.
  • Ability to read plumbing schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.
  • Awareness of hotel engineering safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and Qatar safety regulations.
