Plant General Manager

Position Overview

A prominent manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant General Manager to oversee operations at a high-output manufacturing site located in Georgia. This pivotal leadership position entails managing all facets of plant performance including safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and workforce management (collectively known as SQDCP), while championing Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement to enhance operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee comprehensive plant operations to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and labor performance objectives.
• Lead and promote Lean manufacturing and ongoing process improvement initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and operational efficiency.
• Formulate and implement production schedules, financial plans, and operational tactics that align with strategic business goals.
• Cultivate and mentor cross-functional teams to foster a culture rooted in accountability, safety consciousness, and superior operational standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and senior leadership to deploy new technologies, manage capital investments, and support long-range growth programs.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is mandatory.
• Minimum of ten years of advanced leadership experience within a manufacturing setting, including roles managing plant, production, or operations.
• Demonstrated track record in implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices successfully.
• Competency in overseeing budgets, capital expenditure projects, production planning, and delivery of operational metrics.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities with strong communication and team-building skills; experience in automotive, heavy machinery, metalworking, or industrial manufacturing sectors is preferred.
