Role Overview

The Planning Engineer will oversee the creation and maintenance of project schedules to ensure timely completion of civil, architectural, and MEP construction works. This includes coordinating with project managers and site teams, managing resource planning, analyzing project progress, and developing reports to keep both internal stakeholders and clients informed. The role requires identifying project risks and delays and recommending corrective strategies to maintain budget and timeline adherence. This position is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update project schedules aligned with contractual requirements.
• Create baseline programs, recovery plans, and progress updates utilizing Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Perform project impact analyses such as Planned versus As-Built and Window Analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure effective progress and resource allocation.
• Provide planning input supporting contractual, commercial, and legal teams during claims and dispute resolutions.
• Conduct delay analyses and propose mitigation measures to meet project deadlines.
• Review and integrate subcontractor schedules into the overall project timeline.
• Prepare periodic progress reports highlighting critical tasks, risks, and resource usage.
• Assist the tendering department with inputs on planning methodologies, project durations, and scheduling.
• Deliver accurate project forecasting and performance evaluation to management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience as a Planning Engineer within the UAE construction industry.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, including claims, variations, and Extension of Time (EOT) procedures.
• Experienced in conducting delay analysis using recognized methods such as Time Impact Analysis, Window Analysis, and Planned vs. As-Built comparison.
• Ability to interpret contract provisions and align project schedules accordingly.
• Knowledge of UAE construction laws and contractual practices is advantageous.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure and delivering results within tight deadlines.
