Project Context

Bechtel has extensive experience in complex airport developments globally, particularly in the GCC region with significant involvement in major airports such as King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat. Currently, Bechtel is providing project management consultancy (PMC) services for a new state-of-the-art international airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which includes three new terminals designed to handle up to 120 million travelers by 2030 and 185 million by 2050, with substantial cargo handling capabilities.

Role Summary

The Planner will collaborate with the project team to develop and maintain project schedules for proposals and contracts. This role involves schedule creation, monitoring, reporting, and analysis, supporting schedule recovery efforts, and optimizing project timelines to meet deadlines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of scheduling data for project proposals or contracts.
• Establish and manage schedules within specific disciplines or specialties.
• Develop schedules including creating work breakdown structures, estimating activity durations, setting workflow logic, and forecasting job expenditures.
• Monitor schedules, identify critical activities, and update schedule data for relevant disciplines.
• Support maintenance of critical path schedules and performance reports.
• Conduct schedule analysis to identify challenges and criticality of activities.
• Contribute to planning and implementation of schedule recovery.

Qualifications and Experience

The position requires a bachelor's degree or its international equivalent along with either 2-5 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience or 6-9 years of practical work experience in related areas.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proven skills in planning and scheduling, including schedule development, control, and analytical techniques.
• Ability to establish planning criteria and manage scheduling activities effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to present scheduling information clearly to management and clients.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capability.
• Up-to-date with current industry practices and technological advancements.
