Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, grooming, and hygiene according to their personalized care plans
• Encourage use of sensory aids like glasses and hearing devices to facilitate communication
• With additional mandated training, administer medications under supervision of a registered health professional
• Ensure residents have access to mobility and assistive aids like canes, walkers, and call bells
• Provide ongoing emotional, cognitive, social, oral, dental, and spiritual support
• Promote resident participation in individual or group programs hosted by the Resident Experience Team

Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of a Personal Support Worker program from an accredited college or private institution
• Detail-oriented with proficiency in basic treatment procedures and bedside care
• Compassionate, tactful, and diplomatic in interactions with seniors, families, and visitors
• Legally authorized to work in Canada with successful clearance of a Vulnerable Sector Check
