Pedagogical Leader

Role Overview

The Pedagogical Leader plays a vital role by providing expert guidance and exemplary leadership to Educational Leaders, Room Leaders, and Educators. This position demands an exceptional standard of practice, comprehensive knowledge, and strong support aligned with Quality Area 1 of the National Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an outstanding role model and source of support for educational programs, grounded in deep theoretical understanding of relevant educational philosophies including the Reggio Emilia approach.
• Work collaboratively with Educational Leaders and Managers to ensure accountability and successful completion of educational programs, documentation of children's learning and development, as well as critical reflection processes across all age groups.
• Forge and nurture meaningful relationships with all stakeholders involved, including families and staff.
• Ensure that children's engagement with educational activities is consistently documented and communicated to families, working closely alongside Educational Leaders.
• Proactively seek and incorporate feedback from families to continuously enhance each service's educational programming.
• Support Educational Leaders and Service Managers in embedding the organization's philosophy and Reggio Emilia principles into daily pedagogical practices and programs.
• Provide assistance during visits and assessments conducted by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit (ECRU) focusing on Quality Areas 1 and 5.
• Collaborate on ongoing quality improvement initiatives by partnering with Educational Leaders and Service Managers to develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans targeting Quality Areas 1, 3, 5, and 6.
• Incorporate cultural and community events to enrich educational programs.
• Ensure educational programs and educator practices create daily opportunities for children to experience enriching and memorable 'magic moments.'
