Job description
Position Summary
Act as a key figure in ensuring accuracy of all payroll-related documents and figures by verifying, auditing, and maintaining comprehensive records in strict adherence to company policies. Manage computerized payroll and financial data, compiling and distributing detailed statistical and payroll reports. Oversee employee payroll files, including updates and archival, while reviewing and reconciling work hours, pay alterations, and related payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Policies and Procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information.
- Safeguard guest and coworker privacy and security.
- Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Secure and protect company assets as per company guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Assistance to Management
- Support management with payroll preparation for hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and proper distribution.
Finance and Accounting Responsibilities
- Audit payroll, financial, and accounting reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Systematically organize and secure all financial and payroll records as per retention and confidentiality policies.
- Generate, maintain, and circulate financial and payroll reports.
- Verify accuracy of entries, calculations, and coding in payroll documents.
- Utilize property management software to record, store, and analyze payroll information.
Payroll Operations
- Maintain and update payroll records, handling new hires, transfers, corrections, retroactive pay adjustments, and sick pay.
- Archive payroll documentation in compliance with legal and company retention requirements.
- Reconcile time punches, hours worked, pay adjustments, and post these appropriately.
- Backup transactions and transmit payment files to payroll systems punctually as per procedures.
- Input payroll adjustments and process paychecks and earning statements.
- Review payroll registers to ensure accurate payroll processing.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- At least two to three years’ experience in accounting or payroll, preferably within hospitality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office, and hotel management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
- Applicants must have legal work authorization in Fiji.
