About the Role

We seek a seasoned Payroll Manager to oversee and guide our payroll operations in a permanent, full-time position based in Wellington CBD. This role demands leadership of a values-oriented payroll team emphasizing accuracy, service, and continuous enhancement. You will be responsible for ensuring timely, precise, and compliant payroll services across the IHC Group and its subsidiaries, shaping a positive team culture and improving payroll interactions with managers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a dedicated payroll team focused on service quality and continual progress.
• Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing while guaranteeing adherence to New Zealand payroll laws.
• Drive practical improvements and payroll system enhancements.
• Maintain payroll records' integrity and oversee audits and compliance requirements.

Required Expertise and Skills

• Extensive experience with high-volume New Zealand payroll processing and payroll legislation including the Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, KiwiSaver, and tax regulations.
• Strong capability in payroll systems and Microsoft Office, with skills in analyzing payroll data.
• Effective leadership skills involving coaching, mentoring, and clarifying team objectives.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to implement effective solutions to complex issues.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities for engaging various stakeholders.
• Commitment to customer service, collaboration, and continuous improvement in a values-driven environment.
