Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Payroll Manager for our Head Office team to handle the comprehensive weekly payroll processing of over 600 employees. This position requires resilience, strong organizational skills, and an ability to thrive within a busy and fast-moving environment. The role includes managing payroll queries, updating employee details, and leading a part-time Payroll Administrator who supports this function.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete end-to-end weekly payroll processing for 600+ employees.
- Manage employee records including onboarding new starters, processing terminations, and maintaining updates.
- Administer employee integration into the Ready Workforce payroll system.
- Supervise and support a part-time Payroll Administrator reporting directly to you.
- Handle daily and weekly updates relating to employee leave and roster changes.
- Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Ensure full compliance with New Zealand payroll regulations and employment laws.
Candidate Profile
- At least four years of experience managing end-to-end weekly payroll in an SME environment, preferably with over 600 employees.
- Familiarity with the Ready Workforce payroll system is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Thorough knowledge of current New Zealand payroll legislation.
- Exceptional accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team setting.
- Composed demeanor, capable of performing under pressure to meet strict weekly deadlines.
- Highly methodical and organized work style.
