Operations Analyst

About the Company and Role

An expanding alternative investment firm specializing in equity strategies is looking to add an Operations Analyst to their London-based team. This role offers a chance for an enthusiastic professional to gain comprehensive experience across a dynamic investment management environment and contribute meaningfully to the platform’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute trade, cash, and position reconciliations on T0 and T+1 timelines.
• Collaborate directly with prime brokers, fund administrators, and counterparties to address and resolve discrepancies, ensuring seamless operational processes.
• Handle corporate action elections and related operational procedures.
• Assist in maintaining and improving operational infrastructure and portfolio management systems.
• Oversee cash balances and monitor margin requirements diligently.
• Support the preparation of daily profit and loss statements and monthly net asset value calculations.
• Liaise with internal teams and external partners to guarantee accurate processing of trading activities.
• Provide assistance in managing foreign exchange hedging activities related to share classes.
• Support treasury operations as needed.
• Participate actively in compliance, risk management, and process enhancement projects.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum of three years’ experience in operations, middle office, or related roles within hedge funds, asset management, proprietary trading, or investment banking sectors.
• Solid knowledge of equities and equity market operational processes.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Excel with advanced capabilities; experience with VBA or other programming languages is a plus.
• Exceptional organizational skills combined with the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset suited to a lean, high-achieving team.
• A self-driven individual exhibiting an entrepreneurial approach to work.
