Job description

Job Purpose and Duties

This role involves maintaining safety and order within school settings, including overseeing student movements and activities.

  • Recognize and communicate any known or suspected issues or concerns to the correct staff or authority.
  • Gather students and oversee their dismissal and movement through hallways and the cafeteria.
  • Supervise lunchroom behavior to ensure a peaceful environment.
  • Maintain safe conduct in recess areas by preventing hazardous activities.
  • Oversee that students board and exit school buses safely and ensure they are on the correct buses for their journey home.

Employment Requirements and Qualifications

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement regarding Selective Service compliance.
  • Applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
  • Payment will be made through direct deposit only.
  • Appointment contingent upon suitability and fitness, verified through background checks.
  • A Tier 1 background investigation including Childcare Checks is mandatory due to interaction with minors below 18 years old.

Eligibility: Only U.S. citizens may apply.

General Experience: Minimum of three months performing progressively responsible clerk, office, or similar work that shows ability to gain knowledge and skills necessary for this role, such as customer service or following set procedures.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Combination: A combination of education and experience may qualify candidates as long as the combined percentage meets or exceeds 100%. The experience months divided by three and education credit hours divided by high school graduation requirements should total at least 100%.

Evaluation of candidates will focus on competencies in interpersonal skills, oral communication, and organizational awareness.

Foreign Education: Credentials from foreign institutions must be evaluated by a qualified organization to establish equivalency with a U.S. accredited program.
