About Saudi Gold Refinery

Role Overview
Based in Riyadh, the Mine Manager will oversee upstream exploration and extraction operations that supply gold-bearing ore and dore to support refining activities. This position ensures continuous ore supply, regulatory compliance, production optimization, and safety excellence. Reporting to the VP of Operation and Technical, the role bridges mining activities with refining capacity needs, drives quality performance in drilling, blasting, and hauling, and cultivates a culture prioritizing safety and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement yearly mine plans to guarantee ore delivery meeting refinery grade and volume requirements.
- Maintain mining licenses and environmental permits through accurate submissions to MIM.
- Enforce rigorous health and safety protocols including permit-to-work schemes aiming for zero lost-time injuries.
- Supervise third-party contractors involved in drilling and earthmoving to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with service agreements.
- Manage geological data collection and resource modeling updating reserve estimates per Saudi Geological Survey standards.
- Oversee mining operational budgets, optimizing fuel consumption and equipment maintenance costs.
- Engage local communities and government entities to sustain social license and uninterrupted mining operations.
- Lead recruitment and training to develop a technically skilled workforce comprising Saudi nationals and experienced expatriates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in mining operations with emphasis on gold or precious metals.
- Proven track record managing open-pit or underground mining projects in the Middle East.
- Comprehensive understanding of Saudi mining laws and MIM regulations.
- Strong proficiency in mine planning software such as Datamine or Surpac.
- Effective leadership in directing large teams and managing contractor relationships.
- Fluent in English for technical and executive documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mining Engineering or Business Administration.
- Experience linking mining outputs with refining or processing facilities.
- Professional certifications in project management or mine safety.
- Well-developed network within Saudi mining and governmental sectors.
