About the property
Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa is hiring a Meeting & Events Executive for its Sales & Events team. The hotel is a multi-award-winning five-star property set in the Wicklow mountains on the famous Powerscourt Estate. Its gardens were named the third most beautiful in the world by National Geographic. The property is part of the MHL Hotel Collection and operates within Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.
The hotel’s goal is to deliver exceptional guest experiences through a highly capable and dedicated team. A structured training programme is provided to support the role and the wider business.
Role summary
This position manages meetings and events from the initial proposal stage through to delivery and final follow-up. The executive works closely with guests and internal departments to ensure smooth service before, during, and after each event. The role also involves overseeing function space and room inventory to support revenue growth and profitability.
Success in the role requires a proactive, organised, and detail-focused person who is comfortable in a busy, fast-moving hotel sales environment. Daily work involves regular interaction with clients, hotel guests, and multiple departments, so strong communication, selling, and presentation abilities are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Handle event coordination from proposal creation through event completion.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and hotel teams to deliver consistent service across all stages of the event.
- Oversee pre-event, live-event, and post-event activities.
- Manage function space and guest room inventory to help maximise revenue and profit.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met by both the hotel and the client.
- Identify upselling and enhancement opportunities to improve event value and revenue.
- Work closely with departments across the hotel to support smooth event execution.
Candidate profile
The role is suited to someone with an outgoing personality, a polished manner, and a hands-on approach to hotel sales and events. The ideal person will be comfortable prioritising tasks, building client relationships, and working accurately under pressure.
