Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer position is located in Dahej, Gujarat. The role focuses on structural steel erection and underground piping works within project sites managed by the company, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute structural steel erection and underground piping tasks according to the approved construction schedule.
• Thoroughly review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and method statements before commencing work.
• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly work plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Ensure required manpower, machinery, materials, and tools are available before initiating activities.
• Supervise fabrication, assembly, and erection of structural steel, confirming anchor bolt positions, foundation levels, and alignment.
• Maintain erection sequence to uphold structural stability, checking bolt torquing, part fit-up, alignment, plumbing, and leveling.
• Oversee crane operations and lifting activities to secure safe erection procedures.
• Coordinate with survey teams for precise line, level, and alignment verification.
• Direct excavation, trench preparation, pipe laying, fabrication, welding, and backfilling for underground piping works.
• Validate pipe routing, invert levels, slopes, and alignment per approved drawings.
• Ensure proper fit-up, welding quality, flange alignment, and joint readiness.
• Manage hydro testing, pneumatic testing, flushing, and reinstatement activities.
• Supervise installation of supports, thrust blocks, sleepers, protective coating, valves, fittings, and special piping components.
• Guarantee adherence to approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and client standards throughout project execution.
• Conduct stage-wise inspections prior to client verification and monitor compliance with welding procedure specifications and qualification of welders.
• Maintain all inspection requests, checklists, and necessary quality documentation.
• Oversee rectification of any punch list items and non-conformance reports until closure.
