Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Materials Scientist to carry out the daily experimental synthesis and characterization of materials predicted by AI. Collaborating closely with the Head of Materials Synthesis & Characterization and the computational team, you will transform AI-driven materials designs into tangible samples and procure high-quality characterization data. This role demands strong ownership and execution skills within a lab environment, contributing directly to an innovative AI-enabled workflow, intellectual property generation, and industrial validation.

Responsibilities
- Conduct day-to-day experimental synthesis following AI predictions.
- Characterize materials using various techniques to generate detailed data.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to enhance the AI-materials discovery feedback loop.
- Ensure rigorous experimental protocols and accurate documentation of results.
- Contribute to intellectual property creation and support industrial qualification processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- PhD or MSc in physics, chemistry, or materials science with over 5 years of practical experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in synthesizing inorganic crystals such as permanent magnets, van der Waals materials, superconductors, Perovskite compounds, Kondo topological fermions, and Laves compounds.
- Proficiency in material characterization techniques including X-ray diffraction, SEM-EDS, cryogenic transport measurements, and magnetization (PPMS, VSM).
- Familiarity with synthesis methods like physical vapor deposition, melt-growth, flux-growth, and arc-melting.
- Strong capability to rapidly assimilate new growth techniques.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of diverse low-temperature characterization methods.
- Working experience with magnet materials.
- Understanding of laboratory automation and data management systems.
- Experience contributing to data generation for patents or industrial applications.
