Role Overview

The Girl Scouts of South Carolina–Mountains to Midlands (the Council) is looking for a skilled Marketing & Creative Content Coordinator to enhance our brand visibility and foster engagement across various platforms. In this position, you will create impactful visual and written content for digital, print, and social media, highlighting the vibrant experiences and stories within our council.

Key Duties

  • Promote the Girl Scouts organization through compelling storytelling, vibrant digital presence, photography, videography, and outreach efforts.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by engaging with vendor partners, community contacts, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent and clear representation of the council’s brand across all communication channels.
  • Manage social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok; oversee content creation, scheduling, community interaction, monitoring, and analytics.
  • Produce and edit photography, short-form videos, and reels highlighting events, programs, and campaigns.
  • Create a variety of print and digital designs such as flyers, brochures, presentations, annual reports, signage, newsletters, and program materials.
  • Support digital advertising initiatives including paid social media campaigns and Google Ads, track performance and optimize continuously.
  • Maintain and update website content including program listings, images, forms, and homepage features.
  • Assist with council-wide initiatives like program promotions, membership drives, fundraising, and PR activities.

Technical Proficiencies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia Production, or similar fields; Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute education.
  • Between 1 to 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, or content development, including professional, nonprofit, volunteer, internship, or educational roles.
  • Experience in nonprofit or youth services sectors is welcomed but not mandatory.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling talent.
  • Proficient at creating social media content including graphics, photography, and videos.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere.
  • Familiarity with website CMS platforms and email marketing software.
  • Competent in managing both organic and paid social media content, including analytics and reporting.
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines accurately.
  • Effective interpersonal communication; able to connect with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to learning new technology.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems is advantageous.
