Position Summary
Join us at our Göttingen site as Manager Technical Customer Service Beverage Packaging, where you will lead a team and coordinate closely with various Novelis locations and customers to resolve processing issues and drive product and service quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Customer Technical Service Beverage Packaging department.
- Actively participate in or lead projects involving collaboration between Novelis sites and customers focusing on processing challenges.
- Analyze statistical data from qualification and innovation results derived from customer trials.
- Promptly address technical complaints and special approvals in close coordination with production colleagues.
- Monitor, evaluate, and manage key performance indicators such as customer satisfaction, complaint handling time, and compensation related to quality incidents.
- Gather, assess, and communicate current topics such as market trends and investments within customer organizations.
- Lead and develop both products and personnel in areas including safety, technical expertise, and professional customer engagement.
Qualifications
- Completed higher education degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, or metallurgy/material sciences, or comparable extensive professional experience.
- Over 5 years of experience and strong knowledge within the aluminum industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills; confident in interacting across various organizational levels.
- Integrity, proactiveness, solution-focused mindset, motivational leadership style with hands-on mentality and assertiveness.
- Fluent in both English and German (conversational level).
- Willingness and availability for frequent travel.

Location and Community Engagement
The Göttingen site is a significant European location producing beverage can materials and surface-treated aluminum for diverse markets, employing around 700 people. It specializes in aluminum strip surface treatment and includes an R&D center focused on surface coating development and simulation of product manufacturing for customers. Additionally, it supplies die-cast bottles, cartridges, and housings for automobile, construction, pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries.
