ERTO operates from the Tunnel Control Building on East Wall Road, Dublin 3, managing the Dublin Tunnel for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). This full-time onsite position requires the technician to be based at this location.

Role Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical systems within the Dublin Tunnel facilities, also including some civil engineering duties as necessary. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the M&E Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems predominantly found in the tunnel property.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of all maintenance operations within the Maintenance Management System.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders efficiently to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Attend both scheduled and unscheduled tunnel closures associated with maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate activities with contractors involved in maintenance and upgrades.
• Assist in implementing equipment and system upgrades as part of capital expenditure projects.
• Lead projects aimed at improving reliability, performance, and availability of equipment.
• Manage and supervise maintenance department projects as required.
• Provide on-call support for maintenance work outside normal hours on a rostered basis.
• Carry out civil, structural, and environmental inspections as necessary.
• Adhere to company standards and processes, including ISO 55001:2014, ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2004.
• Perform any other duties necessary to fulfill the role's responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of five years experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Must hold a time-served electrical qualification; fully qualified electrician required.
• Desirable qualifications include experience with Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV), Low Smoke and Fume (LSS), and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Preferred education: Leaving Certificate.

Work Schedule and Location

The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule with a 7:30 AM start and a 4:00 PM finish, promoting a healthy work-life balance. The role is based full-time at the Dublin Tunnel site.
