About The Scion Group and Role Overview
The Scion Group is leading innovations in student living environments, seeking a Facilities Technician to join their team immediately. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining properties by addressing repair requests, conducting preventive upkeep, and prepping apartments for new occupants promptly. The Facilities Technician upholds building safety and equipment functionality to deliver excellent service to residents.
Responsibilities
- Maintain property conditions following Scion Group standards, OSHA guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Perform physically demanding tasks to preserve assets and property features, minimizing liability.
- Accomplish daily maintenance goals and assignments assigned by Facilities management.
- Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance efficiently and professionally.
- Help ensure completion of all service requests timely.
- Record all performed work and used materials daily, including notes on follow-ups needed and signatures.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, contractors, service staff, and management through professional and courteous interactions.
- Conduct basic appliance repairs, carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and lighting tasks to ensure apartments are ready on schedule.
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance duties.
- Maintain HVAC components by cleaning coils, lubricating equipment, replacing air filters, and conducting minor repairs.
- Keep the workspace and repair sites organized and clean.
Requirements
- Minimum education of high school diploma or GED.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) credential or commitment to obtain it within six months of hire.
- Excellent verbal communication abilities.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures with a dependable and punctual work ethic.
- Capability to perform under tight deadlines and flexibility to cover after-hours and weekend emergencies.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer proficiency or ability to learn relevant software programs.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as job requires.
- Physical stamina to stand for 8+ hours daily and lift up to 100 pounds as needed.
Additional Information
- Work location is on assigned property with possible periodic travel.
- Must be available for on-call duties except during approved paid time off.
