Logistics Management Specialist

Position Summary

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) in San Diego, CA is seeking a Logistics Management Specialist to join the Industrial Support Department within the Waterfront Operations (WFO) Division. This role involves managing and optimizing logistics support processes to ensure operational readiness and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Analyze problems critically to identify causes, weighing the accuracy and relevance of information.
• Develop and recommend effective solutions considering potential impacts on mission and stakeholders.
• Engage in technical and managerial activities aimed at delivering system support that meets warfighter performance requirements while minimizing support costs and logistics footprint.
• Manage life-cycle systems support and sustainment activities, translating operational availability and readiness criteria into affordable support capabilities.
• Oversee logistics support planning and execution, including comprehensive analyses encompassing cross-program and logistics infrastructure elements.
• Integrate and control technical and product-related data from design to sustainment phases.
• Efficiently select, acquire, store, and distribute organizational resources such as materials, equipment, finances, inventory, human skills, production means, and information technology.
• Lead programs ensuring resource administration aligns with public trust and mission accomplishment, monitoring outcomes to enhance organizational efficiency.
• Set objectives, priorities, and implement sound management processes complying with regulations and accountability standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or comparable private/public sector experience including:

• Proven ability to identify and analyze problems and develop timely, effective recommendations.
• Experience in managing technical and logistical support systems that optimize operational capabilities and minimize costs.
• Understanding of total life-cycle systems management and sustainment planning.
• Knowledge of managing technical/product data critical for defense systems throughout their lifecycle.
• Expertise in effective resource management covering a variety of organizational assets.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills ensuring accountability and mission success.
