Role Overview

This full-time on-site position based in Birkdale, Queensland involves evaluating building applications to ensure they adhere to applicable standards and regulations. Responsibilities include preparing and issuing certification documents, conducting inspections at critical construction phases, and maintaining precise records. The incumbent will provide guidance to clients and key stakeholders, coordinate with various professionals to resolve compliance challenges, and contribute to enhancing internal procedures while fostering a safety-conscious work environment.

Key Duties

• Examine building plans and associated documentation for compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Conduct site inspections throughout construction stages to verify conformity with approved plans and regulations.
• Prepare, issue, and manage certification documents accurately and efficiently.
• Engage with builders, designers, property owners, and regulatory bodies to offer clear and knowledgeable advice on certification requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address compliance issues and improve process workflows.
• Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all certification activities.
• Promote workplace safety and uphold ethical practices aligned with regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong familiarity with building regulations, codes, and standards applicable to residential and commercial certifications, supported by practical experience.
• Competence in performing technical reviews, assessments, and accurate documentation, including interpretation of architectural plans and reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of delivering clear guidance to diverse parties involved in certification.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain meticulous records.
• Proficiency in common office applications and industry-specific certification and reporting software.
• Relevant academic credentials in building surveying, construction, engineering, or similar fields preferred.
• Current or attainable registration as a Level 3 Certifier in Queensland is highly advantageous.
