Job description
Job Overview
The Lead Hand at Tim Hortons is tasked with ensuring that all operational standards are consistently upheld. Responsibilities involve floor maintenance, accurate record keeping of logs and food safety protocols, monitoring team performance during shifts, resolving issues, and supporting training and staffing efforts to strengthen team operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Adjust station assignments to meet operational demands effectively.
- Ensure timely and precise completion of food safety, temperature, cleaning, and operational logs.
- Perform floor evaluations throughout shifts to guarantee adherence to Tim Hortons brand and quality standards.
- Conduct shift handoffs, verify task completion from previous shifts, and communicate unresolved matters to supervisors or management.
- Document and relay operational concerns, employee incidents, customer feedback, coaching opportunities, and other workplace issues requiring follow-up.
- Assist in managing shift coverage when staff call in sick by collaborating with team members to maintain staffing.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks by actively supporting various stations as needed.
- Facilitate training, coaching, and development initiatives to promote teamwork and accountability.
- Model professional conduct and encourage respectful communication within the team.
- Escalate concerns related to employee relations, safety, food safety, and operational matters appropriately to management.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within quick-service restaurants or food service is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with the capability to coach and support a dynamic team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for handling employee and customer interactions professionally.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, adaptable to shifting operational needs.
- Competency in quality control, brand standards adherence, and accurate documentation practices.
- Flexibility to provide shift coverage and operate across multiple stations.
- Proficient problem-solving skills with the aptitude to identify and escalate issues suitably.
- Ability to cultivate a collaborative, positive, respectful, and accountable team culture.
