Job description

Role Overview

The Lead Career Coach plays a pivotal role supporting NTU Education 2025 and beyond by assisting in the strategic development of NTU students into graduates prepared for their future careers. This position functions both as a personal career coach and as a business partner to the Schools and Colleges, guiding and empowering undergraduate and postgraduate students through their career self-discovery, exploration, and professional growth to enhance employability aligned with their aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized one-on-one career coaching and facilitate small group coaching sessions.
  • Support students in identifying career preferences, strengths, values, and interests.
  • Utilize self-assessment and career profiling tools to aid student self-awareness.
  • Guide students in early career planning throughout their four years at NTU.
  • Provide comprehensive information and resources on job searching, CV writing, interview preparation, industry-specific skills, and career workshops.
  • Conduct mandatory small group sessions focused on resume critiques and mock interviews (ML0004 course).
  • Coach students in internship and job search tactics.
  • Engage with students, student organizations, and faculty members on career readiness.
  • Design and tailor school-specific career initiatives and programs such as industry talks, alumni sessions, and customized workshops to boost employability.
  • Act as a collaborator and main point of contact for School leadership on career-related topics.
  • Participate actively in School outreach, including events like Career Day.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a recognized degree and nine to ten years of professional experience, including a minimum of five years in career coaching, counseling, career services, graduate recruitment, human resources, executive search, or learning and development roles.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and act as a change agent within the Career Coaches team to elevate service visibility and impact.
  • Hold relevant career coaching certifications along with qualifications in self-assessment and career profiling instruments.
  • Experienced coaching professional skilled in engaging young adults effectively.
  • Well-versed in both traditional and technology-driven AI tools for career coaching.
  • Possess substantial knowledge of industries, workplace norms, and employer expectations.
  • Display strong initiative, self-motivation, and a commitment to student career success.
  • Exemplary communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in delivering career workshops and presentations.
  • Excellent active listening, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized with meticulous administrative competencies.
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
