Role overview
Mango Global Technologies Co. (MGT) is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support QA/QC work on a construction project site in Ghana, based in Tema, Greater Accra Region. This role reports to the QA/QC Engineer and functionally to the Construction Manager. The monthly salary is GHS 2,500.
What you will do
- Carry out laboratory and site testing on construction materials such as soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and related building materials.
- Complete routine quality checks in line with approved procedures and standards.
- Prepare test samples and keep clear, accurate testing records and supporting documentation.
- Record, review, and share test findings with the QA/QC Engineer.
- Calibrate and look after laboratory instruments so they remain operational and reliable.
- Support investigations into material quality concerns and suggest corrective measures where needed.
- Help ensure adherence to project specifications, quality requirements, and health and safety rules.
- Assist with site inspections and quality audits whenever required.
- Keep the laboratory clean and handle testing equipment and materials safely.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory reports.
- Coordinate with site engineers and the QA/QC team so construction materials consistently meet the required standards.
Requirements
- Certification in laboratory testing or another relevant technical qualification.
- Training or qualifications in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a similar discipline will be an added advantage.
- Between 4 and 5 years of experience working as a Laboratory Technician.
- Prior employment in a construction company is mandatory.
- Practical experience testing construction materials using recognized standards.
- Solid understanding of laboratory procedures for construction materials.
- Working knowledge of construction quality standards and project specifications.
- Ability to use laboratory testing tools and equipment effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and sound analytical ability.
- Good written reporting and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good awareness of workplace health and safety practices.

- Test results must be accurate and dependable.
- Testing and reporting should be completed on time.
- QA/QC procedures and project specifications must be followed consistently.
- Equipment calibration and maintenance must remain compliant.
- Quality non-conformances should be identified and resolved effectively.
- Laboratory safety and housekeeping standards must be maintained.
