Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining an enterprise-scale design system comprising elements, components, and patterns.
• Conduct user research to identify unmet needs of customers and stakeholders.
• Create wireframes for quick iterative design reviews and feedback incorporation.
• Prototype innovative interfaces using Figma software.
• Plan and perform usability testing on features, analyze findings, and help prioritize improvements.
• Evaluate user experience of applications built using the design system and suggest enhancement opportunities.
• Develop user personas to steer the design process effectively.
• Work in an Agile environment following industry best practices.
• Proactively improve the design system during each development sprint.
• Collaborate with software engineers to deliver an intuitive user experience.
• Coordinate development of new features with team members.
• Understand the full application feature scope and objectives.
• Help design and distribute design assets within the software development team.
• Support documentation efforts relating to design components.
• Prepare end-of-program presentations for management review.
• Organize and catalog design assets systematically.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and initial concept creation.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of practical experience in UI and UX design.
• Proficient with accessibility standards, UI component design, vector graphics, and icon management.
• Experience using UI/UX design tools such as Balsamiq, Figma, InVision, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Sketch.
• Skilled in designing for both web and mobile applications.
• Strong skills in layout, typography, and a thorough understanding of visual hierarchy.
• Good grasp of color theory fundamentals.
• Knowledgeable about creative processes, including timeline and resource management for delivering high-quality work on schedule.
• A problem solver capable of working independently and thriving in fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Highly organized with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical team members.
• Ability to leverage team members' diverse skills to tackle tasks efficiently.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year program related to computer science, software engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline, with plans to return to the program post-internship.
