Role Summary
The Junior Store Controller based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the routine operations and activities of the stores. This position ensures the correct and safe storage of finished products, raw materials, store items, and non-stock items following established warehouse and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain proper storage and handling protocols for finished products, raw materials, store items, and non-stock materials adhering to warehouse procedures and safety standards.
- Oversee daily store operations and activities, ensuring smooth functioning.
- Distribute stock to various user departments in line with company policies.
- Perform physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of product inflows and outflows within the stores.
- Maintain stock levels at optimal quantities to support operations effectively.
- Keep accurate and updated records of store inventory and prepare reports on inventory status.
- Supervise all aspects of material receipt, processing, fulfillment, movement, pickup, monitoring, and dispatch in the plant.
- Optimize store space utilization by regularly reviewing layout and material flow to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure daily transactions within the stores are consistently updated in the system.
- Coordinate regular and periodic stock counts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Investigate incidents involving damaged or missing stock and report findings to the supervisor.
- Implement and adhere to approved Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies to maintain store safety.
- Continuously assess and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of store management policies, procedures, and processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Management, or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to one year of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills combined with a coaching and supportive approach.
