Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Game Developer proficient in Cocos2d-x to join our remote team on a contract basis. This role centers on using your game development expertise to contribute to the training of next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality, real-world gaming input. Prior AI experience is not a necessity; your knowledge and skills in game development are the focus.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and enhance game mechanics, logic, and features using the Cocos2d-x engine for both prototype and full production projects.
- Work collaboratively with client teams to deliver accurate and relevant game data to assist in AI training activities.
- Develop and adjust game assets and scenes tailored to various training objectives.
- Perform thorough testing, debugging, and optimization of Cocos2d-x code to ensure stable and smooth gameplay.
- Create detailed documentation for code and development processes accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Communicate clearly and promptly regarding project progress, issues, and challenges via written and verbal channels.
- Iterate on deliverables based on feedback to continually refine and improve outputs supporting AI development goals.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong foundation in Cocos2d-x and practical experience with 2D game development workflows.
- Proficient problem-solving and debugging skills within a game development environment.
- Previous experience working remotely with distributed teams under fast-paced conditions.
- Excellent communication abilities, including concise written updates and comprehensive documentation.
- Capable of following and adapting to technical specifications and evolving project needs.
- Understanding of game design principles focused on enhancing player experience.
- Highly self-driven, detail-conscious, and enthusiastic about professional growth in AI-related game development contexts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on projects aimed at AI training or data generation.
- Familiarity with other game engines or programming languages beyond Cocos2d-x.
