About the Role
CoreFactor is recruiting a Human Resources Manager on a contract basis to support a client located in the Greater Toronto Area. This key internal role focuses on establishing robust and compliant HR strategies and practices that align with the company’s goals across both Canadian and US employee bases. The manager will drive culture initiatives, provide expert guidance in performance management, employee relations, engagement, diversity and inclusion, policy development, benefits coordination, health and safety compliance, and HR regulation adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the President and senior leadership to craft, communicate, and implement the company’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.
- Develop and foster a workplace culture that embodies corporate values and supports business goals, enhancing employee engagement.
- Coordinate organizational development activities, including job and organizational design, workforce planning, succession, and change management in partnership with senior management.
- Lead performance management cycles encompassing goal setting, employee reviews, and calibration support for managers.
- Handle employee relations issues such as investigations, performance improvement, and terminations, consulting legal counsel when necessary.
- Support leadership development initiatives, including manager training and employee learning programs.
- Design and implement employee engagement, career growth, and organizational effectiveness programs.
- Manage company communications regarding employee feedback through meetings, surveys, suggestion programs, and newsletters.
- Oversee company-wide committees including social and health and safety groups.
- Assess current and future staffing requirements; develop and execute comprehensive talent acquisition and recruitment strategies for Canada and the US markets.
- Conduct market research to establish competitive pay bands and compensation practices.
- Coach managers on HR processes including performance management, terminations, role transitions, and promotions.
- Track and analyze core HR metrics such as turnover, time-to-hire, and engagement insights.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth integration of new employees and proper exit procedures.
- Maintain HRIS and HCM systems (Dayforce), ensuring accurate and secure employee data management.
- Coordinate health care benefits administration in alignment with Canadian and US regulations and company policies.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable employment and labor laws including ESA and workplace health and safety standards; maintain and update all employee policies and procedures.
- Maintain employment records, manage employment contracts, and liaise with government agencies and legal counsel on employment-related matters.
- Participate actively in health and safety management as a representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee, promoting safe work environments and compliance with legal mandates.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration focusing on Human Resources or related field.
- Between 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible HR experience including recruitment coordination and leadership in HR operations.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian and US employment legislation and HR compliance.
- Experience with HR technologies such as Dayforce and a strong orientation towards data-driven processes.
- Proven track record supporting senior leaders in HR capacities.
- Professional HR certification (CHRP or CHRL) or actively pursuing it is preferred.
