Role Overview
The Human Resources Generalist plays a vital role in managing diverse HR functions professionally, collaborating closely with the HR team and senior leadership to facilitate organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive onboarding and offboarding procedures.
- Maintain detailed and organized personnel, benefits, and labor relations documentation.
- Oversee administration and tracking of FMLA, STD, and other leave programs.
- Handle ADA requests and actively engage in the interactive accommodation process.
- Provide daily performance management support to line managers, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary guidance.
- Consult on and resolve complex employee relations matters, conducting thorough and objective investigations as required.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of employment laws to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Administer federal and state employment regulations and policies effectively.
- Assist in preparing and submitting mandatory annual reports such as Affirmative Action, EEO-1, and Vets-100.
- Oversee compensation and performance appraisal systems.
- Manage HRIS systems and generate regular and ad-hoc reports.
- Foster positive and confidential communication with executives, management, and staff across all levels.
- Develop HR solutions, policies, and programs aligned with organizational strategies.
- Support policy implementation, maintain employee handbooks, and interpret HR policies.
- Work with management and employees to enhance workplace morale, productivity, and retention.
- Demonstrate initiative by addressing new challenges and contributing innovative ideas to improve departmental outcomes.
- Collect and analyze HR-related data to develop reports, presentations, and recommend actions.
- Apply HR policies consistently and uphold high ethical standards.
- Complete special projects with clear objectives, using research and presentation tools to communicate findings.
- Perform other HR assignments and projects as delegated.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources Management.
- Minimum of six years of broad human resources generalist experience.
- Strong background in all HR functional areas including employee relations, benefits, onboarding, compensation, HRIS, and performance management.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Experience supporting management in addressing employee relations and disciplinary matters.
- Independent judgment capability with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and effective time management.
- Ability to comprehend and apply relevant laws, regulations, and policies appropriately.
- Proficient in HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to travel, work in office settings, and perform tasks remotely or onsite including sitting or standing for long durations.
Preferred Credentials
- Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Familiarity with UKG Pro (UltiPro) HRIS system.
- Experience using iCIMS Applicant Tracking System and SharePoint.
