About the role

One&Only is seeking a Host to join its team at One&Only The Palm in Dubai. The role sits within a luxury beachfront resort environment where the focus is on delivering highly personalized experiences for VIP guests from the moment they arrive until departure. You will work in a warm, detail-oriented setting where guest anticipation, precision, and thoughtful service are central to every interaction.

The resort is located on a private section of Palm Island, combining contemporary Dubai with the character of old Arabia. As part of the guest experience team, you will help create memorable stays through attentive service, smooth coordination, and a strong understanding of guest preferences and resort operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Greet, assist, and guide VIP guests through check-in, escorting, concierge support, resort orientation, and any additional requests.
  • Review VIP arrivals at the beginning of each shift and confirm that special requirements have been addressed and actioned.
  • Welcome arriving VIP guests in line with daily arrival lists and resort service standards.
  • Follow resort policies, procedures, and manager briefings consistently.
  • Attend shift briefings, share daily arrival list updates, and include relevant guest comments or notes.
  • Relay special requests, remarks, and operational concerns promptly to the team and manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of resort attractions, promotions, and activities.
  • Know the resort layout well enough to provide directions or conduct guest tours when needed.
  • Identify special occasions during check-in and ensure the relevant teams take the required actions.

  • Ensure VIP collaterals, magazines, and newspapers are stocked and displayed as instructed.
  • Allocate rooms according to guest preferences wherever possible.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping on pending queue rooms and priority arrivals.
  • Work with the airport team to track guest arrivals and keep Team Leaders and Managers informed of timing and location.
  • Handle transport requests accurately and within resort standards.
  • Remain trained in emergency response procedures and basic first aid.
  • Adapt working hours and schedules according to occupancy needs.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will report to the Assistant Guest Experience Manager and should have 1 to 2 years of experience in a comparable role within a luxury hospitality setting or a five-star hotel. A background in customer service and reservations is important, along with strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.

Strong English communication skills are required. Fluency in either Russian or Arabic is mandatory, and additional languages will be an advantage. The role also requires computer literacy, familiarity with relevant software, and hands-on experience with the Opera system. Experience in the Middle East or GCC region will be considered a plus.
