Role Purpose and Responsibility
The Hook-up Engineer - Telecom will report to the Hook-up Manager within the COMP3 project, supporting all telecom-related hook-up activities. Main duties include preparing necessary documentation and procedures at home office for offshore campaigns, overseeing offshore telecom hook-up, pre-commissioning, and testing phases to provide technical supervision and support.
- Manage and supervise all engineering tasks related to hook-up operations.
- Provide technical expertise during bidding, preparation phases, and offshore execution.
- Coordinate scope with Fabrication and Transportation & Installation teams.
- Prepare drawings, material take-offs, job cards, construction reviews, and related studies.
- Contribute to development of multi-disciplinary hook-up procedures.
- Manage marine spread logistics including bid specifications and scheduling to ensure safety and cost efficiency.
- Conduct vessel suitability surveys to guarantee appropriate support for hook-up activities.
- Propose engineering improvements to optimize configurations, reduce offshore hook-up, and enhance site sequencing.
- Participate in engineering reviews such as Constructability, 3D modeling, and HAZID.
- Lead preparation of job cards in coordination with planning teams.
- Maintain and manage project deliverables ensuring timely issuance of documentation.
- Define subcontract scopes and perform technical evaluations for bids.
- Ensure proper interfaces with other project functions during engineering phases.
- Collect site mark-up documents to support final as-built drawing preparation.
- Support hook-up management with engineering activity follow-ups including updates to job cards.
- Manage special requirements concerning welding, painting, coating, and quality control before offshore missions.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Telecom Hook-up Engineer in Offshore EPC projects.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Technical proficiency in telecommunications systems including Public Address General Alarm (PAGA), CCTV, Access Control, PABX/Telephone Networks, Radio/Antenna systems, Navigational Aids, UHF/VHF, and LAN/WAN networks.
- Preferably certified CCNA or similar telecom specialist credentials.
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
