Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Home Care Worker to assist elderly community members in Toowoomba and surrounding suburbs such as Harristown, Harlaxton, Rangeville, and Middle Ridge. This position requires at least six months of prior experience and a Certificate III qualification in Aged Care or Individual Support. The role involves helping clients maintain independence and wellbeing through a range of home and personal care services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks including bed making, floor cleaning, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Manage laundry duties such as washing, folding, and ironing
  • Prepare meals and assist with grocery shopping
  • Support personal care activities including assisting clients to get out of bed, shower, and dress
  • Help clients with medication intake and mobility or therapy goals
  • Provide care for clients with complex needs, including those with dementia
  • Offer social and emotional support to clients
  • Drive clients to appointments or lifestyle activities
  • Relieve family carers by providing a break or enabling them to attend other commitments

What We Offer

  • Guaranteed shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7am to 5pm (flexible hours)
  • Pay rate of $36.23 per hour plus superannuation and reimbursed mileage at 99 cents per kilometer

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Australian driver's license and access to a reliable, insured, and roadworthy vehicle
  • Certificate III or higher in Aged Care, Individual Support (Aged Care), or Ageing & Disability
  • Minimum six months experience in a similar role including personal care, manual handling, hoist use, and medication assistance
