Frontend Software Engineer

About the Role

Northstrat is searching for a driven Frontend Developer passionate about crafting user-friendly applications tailored to end-user needs. Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, improvement, and upkeep of web-based applications.
• Engage in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML programming alongside thorough code reviews.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, backend developers, and data scientists to develop comprehensive user experiences.
• Participate in defining and interacting with RESTful APIs.
• Investigate and resolve user-reported application problems, providing responsive support.
• Create unit tests and perform quality assurance evaluations to maintain software quality.

Qualifications and Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory, with the ability to secure and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance (not required on the first day).
• Educational and experience criteria include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields with at least 5 years of frontend development experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years relevant experience; alternatively, a High School Diploma with 9 years of applicable experience will be considered.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in JavaScript and proficiency with one or more modern web frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular, or Backbone.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Comfortable navigating Unix/Linux command lines.
• Strong problem-solving capability along with the aptitude to prioritize and manage multiple open tasks.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, typically spending two days a week onsite at the San Antonio office, with flexibility for schedule changes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active security clearances such as Secret or Top Secret are highly advantageous.
• Experience with Data Lake or Data Warehouse architectures is a plus.
• Compliance with DoD 8140 / 8570 certifications may be required as per customer directives.
