Job description
Position Overview
The Front Office Supervisor is responsible for managing all guest check-in procedures including verifying identities, processing payments, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys. They ensure accurate guest account setups tailored to individual needs, manage billing and payment security, and maintain daily operational reports and logs.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle guest check-ins by verifying identity and payment methods, assign rooms, and activate room keys.
- Enter loyalty program details and ensure rate accuracy aligned with market codes, documenting any exceptions.
- Secure payments before room key issuance and verify or adjust billing as required.
- Prepare and review daily cashier and closing reports, manage contingency lists, and balance receipt drops.
- Provide guests with directions, property information, and fulfill their requests by liaising with relevant departments, following up to ensure satisfaction.
- Process various payment forms, including vouchers and paid-outs, and ensure cash bank is counted and secured at start and end of shifts.
- Obtain manual payment authorizations and adhere strictly to accounting protocols.
- Report any guest theft incidents to Loss Prevention or Security teams promptly.
- Support management by training, evaluating, motivating, and coaching front office staff, and act as a positive role model representing company policies.
- Maintain open communication addressing employee concerns and foster teamwork towards shared goals.
- Uphold company policies, comply with safety standards, complete requisite trainings, maintain professionalism, and safeguard confidential information.
- Welcome and assist guests with professionalism and empathy, including individuals with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, manage telephone etiquette, and use computer and POS systems proficiently.
- Physically able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and handle light lifting tasks as part of daily duties.
- Perform additional reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of related industry experience.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience in front office or guest services operations.
