About the Role
TechOp Solutions International is looking for a seasoned FOIA Litigation Analyst to join our Washington, DC office. This role is integral to advancing our mission of promoting transparency and responsibility through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). You will be entrusted with managing intricate FOIA litigation cases, working closely with our legal teams, and offering expert advice on FOIA-related matters. Exceptional analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail are essential for successfully navigating FOIA regulations and delivering outstanding service to our clients.
Key Duties
- Oversee the FOIA litigation lifecycle, including coordinating responses to litigation requests and keeping track of ongoing cases.
- Examine case files, legal documentation, and records to ensure strict adherence to FOIA laws.
- Prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, and other necessary documents related to FOIA requests and litigation.
- Work in partnership with both internal departments and external legal teams to strategize for litigation cases.
- Research FOIA precedents, policies, and best practices to guide case strategy and informed decision-making.
- Stay updated with developments in FOIA case law and regulations to maintain compliance and assess impacts on current cases.
- Support agency officials in preparation for depositions and courtroom proceedings.
- Keep detailed records of litigation activities and results, including reporting metrics and case statuses as needed.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law, public administration, information management, or a related discipline.
- Between three to five years of dedicated full-time experience in FOIA litigation or comparable legal analysis roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FOIA regulations, litigation procedures, and pertinent case law.
- Experience drafting legal documents and official communications.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management software systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal concepts with clarity.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving environment while juggling multiple priorities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility to obtain security clearance if required.
