Field Operator - Energy (Kuwait Pool - Based in UAE)

Job Overview

The role involves ensuring the uninterrupted and efficient functioning of gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), potline rectifiers, associated plant machinery, and all relevant utility services within an allocated area. Operations are conducted under the direct guidance of the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator with a strong emphasis on safety, operational excellence, and timely communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate all assigned plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Execute instructions promptly and accurately as directed.
• Regularly log parameter readings and report any equipment deviations.
• Notify supervisors or control room immediately upon detecting equipment abnormalities.
• Ensure standby equipment is maintained and ready for emergency use.
• Assist in routine testing and re-commissioning post-maintenance downtime.
• Maintain strict adherence to safe work protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
• Identify workplace hazards and actively participate in hazard reporting.
• Uphold high standards of housekeeping in the operational area.
• Maintain comprehensive familiarity with emergency procedures specific to assigned equipment.
• Provide on-the-job training to colleagues and strive for continuous competency enhancement.
• At Jebel Ali Site, roles such as Operator Turbine & Boiler and Assistant Operator focus exclusively on gas turbines, steam turbines, associated plant equipment, and utility services.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum educational requirement: Higher Secondary School Certificate.
• A minimum of 4 years experience in a power station environment.
• At least 2 years experience as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent role in a related sector.

Skills & Competencies

• Proven competencies across all operational areas except DCR operations.
• Proficient English language skills sufficient for report preparation and communication (Intermediate level or equivalent).
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic numeracy, including concentration, percentages, unit conversions, and rate calculations.
• Ability to interpret single line diagrams and utilize relevant IT tools.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational capabilities.
• Teamwork-oriented attitude and effective communication skills.
