  • Use leveling and measuring tools to verify vertical and horizontal placement of stonework.
  • Operate hand tools, polishing devices, and masonry machinery to cut, shape, polish, and complete stone surfaces.
  • Restore and maintain existing stone, brick, and masonry frameworks in line with construction standards.
  • Create and install monumental stonework including decorative inscriptions and letterings.
  • Build retaining walls, stone facades, and structural masonry elements for various residential and commercial projects.
  • Select and prepare metal components required for fabrication within masonry works.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate III qualification in Stonemasonry, Bricklaying, Construction, or a relevant trade certification.
  • A minimum of five years experience working as a Stonemason in construction, landscaping, or masonry settings.
  • Five or more years interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and measurement data for masonry tasks.
  • Proven five-year track record building retaining walls, stone structures, and masonry projects for residential or commercial clients.
  • Experienced in operating masonry cutting, polishing, shaping, and fabricating tools and machinery for at least five years.
  • Skilled in erecting stone retaining walls, rock formations, garden walls, paving, steps, and other outdoor stone features over five years.
  • Comprehensive understanding of masonry methods, mortar applications, and finishing approaches.
  • Ability to accurately read and work from technical site plans and installation directions.
  • Strong awareness and adherence to workplace safety policies, scaffolding rules, and compliance standards.
