Role Overview
The Clinical Research Associate (CRA) position at Medpace is suited for individuals from various healthcare and scientific disciplines, including nurses, dieticians, pharmacy technicians, pharma/device sales reps, biotech engineers, PhD/Pharm.D candidates, health and wellness coordinators, and research assistants. No prior research experience is mandatory, as Medpace offers a thorough initial and ongoing PACE® training program to develop your competency and confidence for independent CRA tasks.
Training and Development
- PACE® training provides interactive discussions, practical exercises, and core departmental rotations to master CRA competencies and broader drug/device development processes.
- Continuous learning with exposure to multiple therapeutic domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform qualification, initiation, monitoring, and closeout visits to research sites in line with protocols.
- Communicate effectively with site medical staff, including coordinators and clinical research physicians.
- Confirm investigator qualifications, training, and resources such as facilities and equipment.
- Verify medical records and source documentation against case report forms, ensuring documentation standards and protocol compliance according to SOPs, GCP, and regulatory rules.
- Ensure subject eligibility for enrollment and maintain regulatory document reviews.
- Manage investigational product accountability and inventory.
- Review and validate adverse event reporting and concomitant medications.
- Evaluate site recruitment and retention performance, recommending improvements.
- Prepare monitoring reports summarizing findings, deviations, deficiencies, and recommended compliance actions.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 2 to 4 years of CRA experience.
- Willingness to travel 60-80% on a national scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities are advantageous.
