About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of transmission-level customer connections involving generation, demand, and interconnections for Ireland's Electricity Grid. Based in Dublin with a hybrid work model (2 days onsite, 3 days remote), this full-time position reports directly to the Programme Manager and works closely with senior stakeholders. The role involves managing projects at both transmission and distribution voltage levels where transmission works are necessary, supporting the ongoing transformation of the Power System for future generations.
Key Responsibilities
The Energy Project Manager will drive end-to-end delivery of customer connection projects, coordinating the efficient completion of new generation connection offer batches and managing the internal delivery team. They will ensure the quality of inputs at every stage aligns with regulatory timelines, foster best practices within the offer process, and cultivate continuous improvement culture. Strong collaboration with peers and leadership of high-performance teams to achieve business priorities is essential. Additionally, they will manage complex technical and commercial challenges, act as an escalation resource, and maintain pro-active engagement and communication with customers and stakeholders to build strong relationships.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must possess an engineering degree or equivalent NFQ level 8 qualification and have at least 5 years of proven experience in project management roles within regulated environments. Experience in managing multiple deliverables involving diverse cross-functional teams is crucial, along with the ability to lead, influence, and work cooperatively to meet deadlines and goals. Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of technical and commercial power industry matters, excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities, and the enthusiasm to drive company strategy through dynamic environments.
Preferred Skills
Applicants with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement in complex scenarios, innovative problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills will be favored. Being adept at conveying technical or commercial concepts to non-technical audiences and senior management through various communication formats is highly valued.
