About Lambton College

Position Overview

This is a temporary full-time support staff role, replacing a bargaining unit employee, working 35 hours per week at an hourly wage of $34.60. The appointment begins promptly and continues until June 8, 2027.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clients to determine eligibility and suitability for either assisted/case-managed or unassisted services.
  • For clients suited for unassisted services, provide detailed information on local training, employment prospects, community supports, occupational and training prerequisites, and resources supporting independent job searches, career clarification, and informed decision-making related to education, training, and employment.
  • Deliver daily customer service support to clients within the resource centre.
  • Refer clients needing assisted services to an employment consultant for ongoing case management and service coordination.
  • Engage with local employers, advertise job openings on internal and external platforms, and assess applicants' eligibility and suitability for services.
  • Market and promote programs by distributing promotional materials to community partners and employers and by participating in college and departmental events.
  • Manage client tracking and data collection, including appointment bookings, client retention, job postings, and computer lab services.
  • Conduct retention outreach and follow-up through email, text messages, and phone calls.
  • Perform administrative functions such as scheduling, service promotion, follow-up calls, data tracking, and job postings.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a two-year diploma in Office Administration or Business; alternatively, other two-year diplomas may be considered if accompanied by strong computer skills.
  • At least two years of experience in customer service or advisory roles, preferably within a resource room environment.
  • Excellent time management, customer service, computer, and communication abilities.
