About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Specialist to become a pivotal member of our HR team. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance and assistance to management on diverse employee relations issues, managing complex cases from start to finish. This role is crucial in reducing organizational risk, ensuring adherence to employment laws and best practices, and nurturing strong professional relationships across the company. It offers a unique chance for a seasoned HR professional to significantly contribute in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advise and coach managers and supervisors on comprehensive employee relations topics to ensure alignment with employment legislation, company policies, and best practices.
  • Handle a diverse range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, absenteeism, probation assessments, performance management, and dignity at work concerns.
  • Guide management through complicated personnel issues, promoting fairness, consistency, and business-oriented solutions.
  • Oversee thorough case management from investigation through to resolution, maintaining detailed records to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Facilitate employee relations training sessions and workshops for managers to enhance their capabilities in handling people-related challenges.
  • Advise on early intervention measures to address workplace issues proactively and prevent escalation.
  • Provide expert support and advice on disciplinary, grievance, and dignity at work processes, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and legal requirements.
  • Assist in preparing for and representing the organization in third-party hearings or external employment relations tribunals when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other HR professionals to update and improve policies and processes reflecting current employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with operational and management teams to facilitate positive employee relations outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree holder in Human Resources, Business Studies, or a related field.
  • Membership or candidacy with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is an advantage.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience managing employee relations cases through their entire lifecycle.
  • Proven expertise in managing disciplinary matters, grievances, performance issues, absenteeism, and workplace investigations.
  • Strong understanding of Irish employment legislation and practical implementation within workplace settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and support managers on complex employee relations topics.
  • Experience in working within large, multi-location, or complex organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to build trust and credibility at all organizational levels.
  • Outstanding communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Resilient, well-organized, and adept at handling multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
