The Electrician role focuses on providing expert electrical skills to support and maintain Packaging Line operations. The position involves collaborating with shift teams, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring safe and efficient plant function.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in maintenance planning meetings by sharing input and clarifying tasks.
- Perform planned, routine, and opportunistic maintenance as per the schedule set by the Maintenance Planner.
- Report any uncompleted work to the Maintenance Planner for rescheduling or reprioritizing.
- Assist team members during planned maintenance windows.
- Complete administration tasks, including COSWIN system updates supporting maintenance activities.
- Contribute to maintenance postmortem reviews by sharing insights and lessons learned.
- Execute autonomous operations as required, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspections according to maintenance schedules.
- Address issues uncovered during inspections promptly, involving additional resources if necessary.
- Verify effectiveness of running repairs and document accordingly; communicate unresolved repair needs to Maintenance Planner.
- Support team members with problem-solving upon request.
- Serve as a functional expert during AB report generation when needed.
- Engage additional resources or escalate issues to Engineering Controller when complex problems arise.
- Analyze machine performance, identify losses and waste, and develop improvement plans.
- Provide expert support during shift operations including standby and day shifts, assisting in fault finding and problem resolution.
- Coach and mentor shift teams on machine operation and troubleshooting, and assess their capabilities.
- Participate as a functional expert in regional and central plant optimization trials.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, reporting unsafe practices for correction.
- Follow detailed work instructions and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping using 5S principles during all activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and risk management standards.
- Operate and maintain equipment relevant to the Packaging process.
- Manage standby duties as per departmental rosters.
- Implement safety inspections, audit maintenance practices, and uphold PPE policies.
- Maintain effective communication within teams, contributing to team development and continuous improvement.
- Generate tags for backlog work and ensure customer satisfaction by preventing rework.
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade Tested N3 Electrical qualification required.
- Certified Electrical Artisan status mandatory.
- Preferably 2-3 months minimum on-the-job training; ideal candidate with 3-6 months on-the-job training.
- Between 1 and 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Artisan within a similar industrial setting.
- Combined expertise in Electrical trade and Control & Automation (C&A).
